ABOUT CULTURGEST
Culturgest – Fundação Caixa Geral de Depósitos is an arts centre based in Lisbon, dedicated to contemporary creation. It presents a regular programme across the fields of performing arts, music, visual arts, cinema, and contemporary thought.
ABOUT WIDENING CIRCLES
The WIDENING CIRCLES project aims to support Portuguese visual artists by helping them create, present, and promote their work both in Portugal and internationally.
Culturgest will lead this project by developing five solo exhibitions with national artists. To this end, a structure will be established to provide conditions for artistic production, increased visibility, and opportunities for international circulation.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Culturgest – Fundação Caixa Geral de Depósitos is seeking a professional with experience in cultural project management and solid knowledge of contemporary art to implement a programme aimed at supporting the internationalisation of Portuguese artists. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in cultural management and exhibition production.
The role will be carried out in close collaboration with Culturgest’s Visual Arts team and includes the following responsibilities:
- Supporting artists and providing logistical assistance for the development of their projects
- Coordinating and producing exhibitions in Portugal and abroad
- Supporting the production and distribution of publications
- Securing partners and managing institutional contacts
- Creating and maintaining databases and contact lists
- Assisting national and international guests
- Preparing and managing funding applications for cultural projects
- Budget management and financial monitoring of projects
- Preparing activity and financial reports
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Culturgest is looking for a professional with the following profile:
- Experience in project management and exhibition production
- Knowledge of the Portuguese and international contemporary visual art scenes
- Availability to travel nationally and internationally (short stays)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Cultural Production or Management
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration practices
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Acrobat
- Availability to start in the last quarter of 2025
TERMS AND DEADLINES
This is a fixed-term employment contract for a period of two years.
