Reading Solves is focused on Álvaro Lapa’s  (1939-2006) affiliation with literature and is structured in chapters, as if it were a book: it starts with a prologue, goes on as a sequence of chapters, which correspond to recurring topics addressed by the artist, and ends with an epilogue.

The exhibition shows the relations between the visual and literary dimensions of Lapa and the creations associated to the 21 names honoured by the artist in his “notebooks” - the paintings evoking the hypothetical writers' notebooks.

This is the very first comprehensive presentation of a significant array of Álvaro Lapa’s visual works, documental materials and of the artist’s personal library. A rare opportunity to get to know one of the Portuguese Art of the 20th century most relevant projects.
