Parallax

Anthropocene is a term relating to the changes of human origin currently affecting the Earth and its ecosystems on an unprecedented scale. In 2014, the Haus der Kulturen der Welt and the Max Planck Institute created the Anthropocene Curriculum to explore a new interdisciplinary culture of knowledge and learning. The project challenges us to describe, understand and consciously shape a future where the forces of technology, culture, industry and society act in accordance with the possibilities and limits of our planet. Like parallax — the apparent change in the position of an object when observed from different positions — the aim is to think beyond sciences and investigate new forms of knowledge.

Anthropocene Campus Lisboa: Parallax is organised by CIUHCT — Interuniversity Centre for the History of Science and Technology. Culturgest hosts this international research project, inviting audiences to two conferences and an exhibition by New York artist Aidan Koch (Main Auditorium hall, free entrance).
