Orquestra Clássica do Sul (Faro, Algarve) visits us during Christmas to present a programme that celebrates the spirit and the tradition of the Season. Travelling back to the 18th century, the concert begins with two deeply religious symphonic pieces by Johann Christian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and ends with one of Joseph Haydn’s most celebrated symphonies. The piece, written at the height of Haydn’s 40-year long musical life, captures our attention from the very beginning with the ‘drumroll’ that gives this work its name.
