In October, the whole world will fit inside Lisboa again to celebrate 20 years of Doclisboa! A very special edition that brings a bold program, guided by the diversity of perspectives and unique ways of thinking about the world, from history to the future.
The retrospective A Questão Colonial focuses on the Portuguese and French colonial past, exploring the diversity of cinematographic representations by authors from the various territories involved and revisiting the memories and wounds of colonialism that continue to mark the present day. Also noteworthy is the comprehensive retrospective of the Brazilian Carlos Reichenbach, one of the protagonists in the extravagant and subversive cinema of Boca do Lixo, between the 1960’s and 80’s.
The sections of the festival Risks, From The Earth To The Moon, Heart Beat, Green Years, and Cinema of Urgency are back to life with many world premieres and poignant films, in line with the International and Portuguese competitions. The Educational Project and the space for professionals Nebulae complete the program with debates, workshops, and parties.
