mala voadora
In North Pole, mala voadora demonstrates that Paradise once existed on Earth and is now buried beneath the ice. Paradise did not cease to exist after the expulsion of Adam and Eve; it merely became inaccessible. The role that ice has played over millennia is precisely this: to preserve Eden, intact and unreachable. So, what would be necessary for us to regain access to Paradise and enjoy its beauty and pure pleasures? That the ice, one day, through some phenomenon, would melt again. Could this be the meaning of global warming? To return Paradise to humanity? We could use the oil from the underground as the oil of ‘anointing the sick’ before beginning our journey to eternal paradise.
In North Pole, Seth Bockley rewrites for mala voadora the thesis presented by William Fairfield Warren, the first president of Boston University, in his 1885 book Paradise Found, the Cradle of the Human Race at the North Pole – A Study of the Primitive World.
