A Vida Secreta dos Velhos

Is the end of life, the end of love?

Facing ageing means, on the one hand, confronting the social gaze, and on the other, watching your own body wear out, day after day, losing its autonomy. And yet, often, love remains, and even more so, desire, which can be accompanied by a reinvented sexuality, which no longer conforms to performance or social pressure, but develops one’s own rhythm, own time, and own fragility, but equally intense intimacy.

To make the show, Mohamed El Khatib interviewed people, weaving a narrative that reflects a wide range of love experiences. This landscape of love in adulthood is a nostalgic portrait of our loving experiences, but also a promise that desire can nestle in the fragility of lives until the last moment.
