Born out of the literary realm, A Syllabary to Reconstruct gathers and presents works that move between the visual and the verbal, welcoming language and the concept of narrativity. Conceived within the scope of the RPAC program and its championing of institutional cooperation, this traveling project has already been presented to audiences at CACC in Coimbra, MACE in Elvas, Galeria NovaOgiva in Óbidos, with its final stop taking place at Culturgest, in Porto.

Due to the diversity of the four venues, the exhibitions feature a central group of pieces that epitomize the essential aspects of the project, to which others are added depending on the architectural specificities of each space, as well as the contributions of the four young co-curators who team up with the lead curator and project author. A Syllabary to Reconstruct brings together works from the State Contemporary Art Collection (CACE), the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection, and the António Cachola Collection.
