Bruno Pernadas
Bruno Pernadas
It was in the midst of the pandemic that Bruno Pernadas delivered Private Reasons — the album and his debut on the Culturgest stage. It was the last release of original material from the Lisbon-based musician and composer, thus concluding a long pop journey, made in three albums, in trilogy mode, between 2014 and 2021. Five years later, we arrive at A Sound From Beneath the Earth and a certain restart of some ideas that are continuously transversal to the Pernadas universe. First, a restlessness in mapping genres, where he playfully wanders between indie, pop, or jazz, passing through dub or space music. Then, the inevitable fusion with which everything intersects, showing an agility in composition that permanently surprises and captivates us. And also, a supreme art in bending time, creating songs that are inspired by more than five decades of history, recomposing new memories and, simultaneously, creating his own futurism. And because there's a new future with new sounds, there's also a band with new faces bringing Bruno Pernadas' music to another premiere night and celebration at Culturgest.
