Following the Direção-Geral da Saúde [Portuguese Public Health Authority] recommendations devised to contain the spread of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19), and according to the contingency plan in place, Culturgest informs it will be closed from January 15 until the end of the lockdown.
When social distancing transcends metaphor and becomes a physical reality, we are inevitably forced to become accustomed to new constellations of bodies and spaces. The body remains one of the most challenging questions of contemporary life, at a time when there is a record use of antidepressants, nutritional advice and health and fitness applications, but also when people are resisting the pathologising of transgender identities, condemning behaviours based on race and learning to cope with the outbreak of the pandemic emergency.
What are today’s choreographies of solidarity and care? What future can we imagine so that we can be together physically in this new world?
