“What do you see when you see me? The body hurts . What do you say about me? The body resists the challenge of representing the invisibles of history, in an attempt at an impossible mapping. How to survive the pathological trauma that society is constantly inflicting? We remain stuck in words, searching for meaning. And the world is trying to give a new reality to this new time. I am violence. You are violence. We are violence. This is the history of violence.” Diana Niepce
The Other Body is a conference-performance that derives from The Other Side, presented in 2002 which developed alongside the creative process of the play The Other Side of Dance. Diana Niepce is accompanied by the language of artists who speak up against the violence spread by the norm and allow the political place of a new body to emerge.
