Associating itself with the celebrations of the fifty years since The Carnation Revolution, during the month of April, Culturgest is presenting the work Orographic Map of the Portuguese Territory, Scaled 1:625000, Subject to the Light Conditions of April 25, 1974, at 08:00, 1999-2009. By the author Fernando Brito, and part of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection, this piece suspends a historical moment at the height of its promise. At 08:00 on April 25, 1974, Portugal was the perfect unknown, the country-poem ready to be written. From this mythical moment, the artist leaves us with a drawing: the cutout of the unrepeatable light of that morning sweeping across the drowsy accidents of the national territory.
