How and (When) to Talk about Disability? This is the question posed by the guide for cultural communication professionals and journalists which was recently launched by Acesso Cultura. How are people with disabilities and Deaf people portrayed in the media? What stories are presented to the public? What is their focus and purpose? Does it always make sense to mention the disability? In this workshop, through the analysis of concrete news and reflecting on how information is conveyed, practices and mentalities are questioned with the aim of building other ways of conveying information when we talk about disability.

The workshop will be with Diana Niepce, dancer, choreographer, writer and activist, Joana Gomes, dancer, Joana Reais, author, researcher and specialist in Inclusion through Art, and Maria Vlachou, founding member and executive director of Acesso Cultura.
