A Winged Victory For The Sullen

A Winged Victory For The Sullen

A Winged Victory For The Sullen

We promised it for June 2020, but it didn't happen, swept up in the flood of cancellations forced by the pandemic and lockdown. It was permanently marked in our archives as "postponed" because we never wanted to assume its definitive disappearance: finally, A Winged Victory For The Sullen is performing at Culturgest, almost exactly six years later. The plan, at that time, sparkled with the album The Undivided Five, released shortly before; however, they added Invisible Cities to that album, a soundtrack for a multidisciplinary work by Leo Warner and Siri Larbi Cherkaoui, based on the book by Italo Calvino. With Dustin O'Halloran and Adam Wiltzie immersed in a successful film composition career, life on the AWVFTS stage became rare and special, which made this very brief return to live shows even more precious and, inevitably, unmissable. Here is the waiting as a serene virtue that foreshadowed a radiant winged victory.
