Enzo Cucchi's work maintains an intimate relationship with writing and in particular with poetry. His last major retrospective – appropriately titled Il poeta e il mago (MAXXI, Roma, 2023) – ended with a section dedicated to the countless works that Cucchi developed in the area of graphic production. Book covers, brochures, catalogues, and other printed materials were gathered in a gigantic showcase, comprising a great presentation of this facet of the artist's work. Complementing the Mezzocane exhibition, the materials gathered here allow us to assess this less known, but no less significant, side of Cucchi's work, offering us at the same time an image of the constellation of authors who gravitate around his singular universe.
