Profanações
Profanações
Curator: David Revés
Desecrate the body. Desecrate matter, time, and history. Drawing a heterogenous constellational territory with pieces, objects and material instantiations of diverse nature and provenance, Profanações acknowledges desecration as a speculative gesture that opens up new horizons for world-making. Inspired by Giorgio Agamben’s Profanazioni, from which it borrows the title, Profanações contradicts the ideal of progress that rules Western societies, and glimpses alternative cosmologies where human, organic and synthetic are mutually imagined.
